Ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, as reproductive rights, immigrant justice, and democratic participation face coordinated attacks, Intersections of Our Lives emerged as both a cultural intervention and a policy roadmap.
Intersections of Our Lives was created in response to this reality. The collaboration is led by three national reproductive justice organizations working in deep partnership: In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice, and National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum. Together, they developed a comprehensive Reproductive Justice Policy Agenda grounded in three pillars: Healthy Body, Healthy Families and Communities, and Healthy Democracy. Their vision affirms that bodily autonomy, economic security, and civic power are inseparable.
We intentionally chose to work with intersectional artists who could enhance the message of the collaboration by infusing the artwork with their lived experiences. The series explores what it means to live in a body navigating systems of policy, culture, and power — and asks why those systems so often assert control over young people, women of color, immigrants, and gender-expansive communities.
At its core, Intersections of Our Lives asserts that reproductive justice requires economic justice, the protection of care workers, and a healthy democracy where communities most impacted by policy decisions hold power in shaping them. Through art, policy, and collective action, Intersections Of Our Lives bridges movement history with contemporary advocacy, mobilizing audiences to share the agenda, engage elected officials, and vote with intention in an election year where fundamental rights remain on the ballot
